Jim is an esteemed litigator, trial attorney and effective mediator with over 46 years of experience. Founding James R. Gotwals and Associates, Inc. in 1978, Jim has an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell®, and both he and his firm are listed in The Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers™. In addition to domestic law, Jim’s principal areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation, mediation (Certified Mediator), real estate, business organizations and probate law. Jim has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in domestic relations since 1993 and in family law mediation since 2011. Mary practiced at James R. Gotwals and Associates, Inc. for 22 years before joining Barrow & Grimm. She has extensive experience in civil and domestic litigation, estate planning, probate and appellate law. Jim received his B.A. (1972) and J.D. (1975) from the University of Oklahoma. Mary received her B.A. and J.D. with honor from the University of Tulsa. Both are licensed to practice in all Oklahoma State courts, the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
