Mary Gutierrez

Mary Gutierrez is an Of Counsel member of Barrow & Grimm, P.C. She focuses her practice in the areas of Family Law, Probate, Civil Litigation and Appellate Law. She received her Juris Doctorate with Honor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1999.

During law school, Ms. Gutierrez served as Research Editor, Notes and Comments for the Tulsa Law Review. She received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Legal Authorities and Appellate Advocacy. She is the author of “Oklahoma’s New Adoption Code and Disclosure of Identifying Information,” 34 Tulsa L.J. 133 (1998).

Ms. Gutierrez was previously a senior associate at James R. Gotwals and Associates, Inc. She is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Ms. Gutierrez is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Ms. Gutierrez has handled over 60 appeals, generating seven published cases: Galbraith v. Galbraith, 2024 OK 43, 550 P.3d 942; Boatman v. Boatman, 2017 OK 27, 404 P.3d 722; Clark v. McConnell, 2014 OK CIV APP 64, 330 P.3d 1226; Briggeman v. Hargrove, 2014 OK CIV APP 13, 318 P.3d 1130; Phillips v. Williams, 2010 OK CIV APP 98, 241 P.3d 696; Shirley v. Shirley, 2004 OK CIV APP 100, 104 P.3d 1142; and Peyravy v. Peyravy, 2003 OK 92, 84 P.3d 720. Galbraith v. Galbraith, 2024 OK 43, 550 P.3d 942 was selected as the 2024 Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section Case of the Year.
