William R. Grimm was recently elected to a six year term as the 1st District member of the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) commencing October 5, 2017. Established as a part of the Judicial branch of government in 1967 by an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution, the JNC is charged with the responsibility of providing qualified candidates to the Governor for appointment of state court judges to fill vacancies on the Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Appeals, District and Associate District Judgeships, and the Workers’ Compensation Court. The JNC has jurisdiction to determine whether the qualifications of nominees to hold judicial office have been met.
