David Johnson

David Johnson is a long time Tulsan whose career has involved military, legal and business roles.  He served in the Air Force as a captain and judge advocate, with a tour in SEA (Thailand).  David worked for Cities Service Company for 10 years where he held various positions of counsel, member of the corporate planning staff, director of a Brazilian chemicals subsidiary with 1500 employees (lived 3 years in Sao Paulo), returned to Tulsa as manager of supply and distribution and general manager of wholesale marketing ; David started his own law practice in 1983 and ultimately merged it into Boesche McDermott LLP.  For a period of time, he took a leave of absence from the firm to be the CEO of a start-up regional airline.  David’s experience enables him to counsel and work through complex business matters both from a legal and practical business perspective.  David has assisted companies large and small as well as start-ups; worked with complex corporate, banking and municipal financial transactions; has extensive energy related transaction experience; counsels companies impacted by international law issues; has extensive aviation experience, assists private companies with succession planning and works with individual and families with regard to estate planning.

David has been active in the community and has been a director of numerous organizations including the Oklahoma Higher Education Task Force, President of the International Council of Tulsa, Chair of the Global Trade Task Force, Executive Committee of the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Metropolitan Chamber Committee on Educational Excellence, Oklahoma Capital Investment Board, Chair of the Tulsa Industrial Authority, Chair of the City of Tulsa Election District Commission, Oklahoma Investment Forum, Metropolitan Tulsa Economic Development Foundation, Leadership Oklahoma, Oklahoma Academy, President of Executives of Tulsa and President of Holland Hall School.  David has chaired and assisted with large industrial attraction and economic development projects for the community and has assisted in drafting environmental and economic development legislation.
